Rigging and Lifting

3 DAY
OVERVIEW / This course has been designed to teach delegates about the technical aspects of lifting operations, appliances and accessories. It includes a detailed explanation of the relevant legislation and regulations, specifically the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER).
The course also covers planning and risk assessment and includes practical rigging scenarios which cover the performance criteria, range statement and knowledge requirements of national standards of competence. The successful completion of this programme will provide valuable evidence towards a competence qualification.

NOTE / Successful delegates can continue their vocational training (at an extra cost of £285 per Portfolio) with the NSL competence-based training programme for rigging and lifting operations. The programme is specifically designed to suit the needs of the UK and international oil & gas industry. This is a joint NSL/EAL (EMTA awards ltd) initiative covering rigging and lifting levels one and two.

OVERVIEW / This course is designed to teach delegates the technical aspects of proof load testing and thorough examination of containers, baskets and other cargo carrying units. The course also covers the preparation of certificates and a series of practical assessments that cover the performance, range statement and knowledge requirements of national standards of competence. Working at Height Module 1: Awareness

OVERVIEW / This course is designed to introduce delegates to the principles and equipment involved in modern working at height systems. In the UK, in the 5-year period from 1996 to 2001, we have suffered 400 deaths and 28,000 major injuries as a result of falls from a height. Many of these accidents could have been avoided through awareness training and appropriate equipment selection. This course is the foundation for a 3-part scheme, the elements of which can either be taken separately or timed to run consecutively.
